Day 6 – Woodstock, GA
This is my wonderfully awesome hometown, and I loved getting to show Joanna the beauty of Downtown Woodstock. This was a great way to end this journey of independence, if you will.
Copper Coin Coffee – Coffee Shop #11 – To be frankly honest, I cannot really think of anything that makes this coffee shop stand out from any other independent shop. It’s not a chain, so it fit the bill for the road trip. One thing I do think is neat is that they have this stadium-ish seating spot. Not many see it that way, but it is very possible to climb up the large wooden steps and sit at the top if that is what you so wished to do.
FoxTale Book Shoppe – Bookstore #13 – This bookstore… I love it! They have such fun events that they host all of the time. The decor surrounds the name. There are foxes all over the place! They have a little nook for the children’s books that is fun and inviting for the young readers. They have all sorts of fun little knick-knacks that you have to walk past before you get to the books, but they are just as wonderful as their collection. The staff at this shop is excellent and always so nice. Their goal is to ensure that you have the best experience possible! If I can, I will always support this bookstore. Definitely a favorite of mine.
Tea Leaves & Thyme – Tea Shop #3 – Fun Fact: My first visit to this place was when I was about nine years old and it was with my Girl Scout troop. So this was the first time I had been back since then. Excellence all around! There are different experience options that you can choose from, but you do have to make reservations. This is not a place that you can just walk in and expect to get a table. You can just walk in if all you want to do it browse their gift shop – which is excellently stocked with all things tea.
As this is the final day my typical reminder of “you can follow my journey in real time by checking out the hashtag #JKRoadTrip on Twitter and Instagram” doesn’t really work here. I hope you have enjoyed reading about my journey through some of the Southeast’s cities and the independent shops they have. As soon as I finish the montage, I will share it here so you won’t miss out. Thank you for taking time to read the posts I have posted!
Until next time… Kara
